Sneak peek inside Legion Brewing's SouthPark outpost

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Legion Brewing Co. expects to add up to 160 jobs to support its new SouthPark location.

Hiring is ongoing, says Brittany Smith, marketing coordinator.

That two-story taproom, restaurant and brewery is on target to open by the end of September in the Capitol Towers development, she adds. The brewery — SouthPark’s first — has taken roughly 8,500 square feet. Legion is investing more than $3 million into that space.

“This is a spot that really needed a brewery,” Smith says.

It’s the second location for the popular Plaza Midwood brewery. Expect it to be the same in terms of beer and neighborhood hangout spot — but to have its own vibe that will fit the neighborhood.
