CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Silver Alert for a missing man separated from his family was canceled after the man was found safe.
Police said 64-year-old Jack Kinard became separated from family members around 7:30 p.m. Friday while following them on Interstate 277 in Charlotte.

Kinard's family said Kinard was unfamiliar with the area and did not have a phone on him.
Kinard was found by the Matthews Police Department and was transported to a local hospital for a precautionary evaluation.
