Silver Alert canceled after endangered 76-year-old woman found safe

IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — A Silver Alert has been canceled for a 76-year-old woman who went missing from Iredell County, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office said Karol Anne Vandewater was found safe in Yadkin County.

She was believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment when she went missing from Doe Trail Lane in Statesville on Monday.

She was last seen wearing a purple and red shirt, black capri pants, and black sandals.

Deputies did not specify a possible direction of travel but said Vandewater drives a 2000 Silver Honda Accord with the license plate NTC2400.
