Shots fired near Midnight Diner in South End, 1 arrested, police say

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating after shots were fired near the Midnight Diner in Charlotte’s popular South End neighborhood.

Officers responded to the call Friday night on Carson Boulevard near South Tryon Street and arrested Dontavious Jordan. He’s charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

A police report lists a 32-year-old man as the victim in the case. He was not hurt.

The report shows the victim and the suspect didn’t know each other.

Police have not said what led up to the gunfire.
