Shelter in Concord to take extra step for homeless

CONCORD, N.C. — A shelter in Concord is taking an extra step to keep the homeless warm during the winter months.

Cooperative Ministry is extending its hours this winter to keep the homeless off of the streets during the cold weather.

Normal shelter hours are from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

The shelter will now open an hour earlier at 6 p.m. and close 2 hours later, at 9 p.m.
