CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Some parents protested the sex education curriculum in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools on Monday outside of the Government Center uptown.
"This is outrageous,” parent Elizabeth Johnston said. “This is not what we send our kids to school for."
Some parents and the North Carolina Values Coalition said changes in the curriculum promote promiscuity.
They said the program also encourages teens to keep sex from their parents.
Parents can opt to keep their children out of sex education.
