CHARLOTTE, N.C. — - Star Spangled Spectacular
The fireworks will be staged from Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) and some streets around the campus will close before 9:00 p.m. to accommodate the fallout zone.
- Charlottetowne Avenue between 4th and 7th streets
- Elizabeth Avenue between Torrence Street and Kings Drive
- 4th Street between Charlottetowne and Kings Drive / 3rd Street Connector
- Whitewater Center
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department will be providing traffic control in and around the U.S. National Whitewater Center on July 3rd and 4th.
Residents will observe healthy traffic throughout both days and can anticipate delays and traffic stoppage at various times.
The CMPD will be providing traffic control specifically on Belmeade Drive and Whitewater Center Parkway, Belmeade Drive and Mt. Holly Road as well as Belmeade Drive and Rhyne Road.

The event begins Wednesday, July 4th at 2 p.m. on Mint Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in front of BB&T Ballpark. Event Organizers expect 15,000 attendees. There will be several street closures in the area.
- Mint Street between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and 3rd Street
- Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard between Mint Street and Church Street
- 3rd Street between Mint Street and Church Street
- Whitewater Center

On a smaller scale, several neighborhoods will host parades on July 4.
- Coulwood Hills Community - The event will begin at 9 a.m. at Coulwood Middle School. Event organizers are anticipating 300 participants. The parade route is from the middle school to Paw Creek Elementary School.
- Hickory Grove - The event will begin at 10:30 a.m. at Hickory Grove School. Organizers expect 500 attendees. The parade will begin on Pence Road, onto Hickory Grove Road, and then onto East WT Harris Boulevard. It will end at Hickory Grove Presbyterian Church.
- Myers Park - The event will begin at 10 a.m. at Myers Park Traditional School. Event organizers expect 150 participants. The parade route begins at Myers Park Traditional School / Queens University and uses Wellesley Avenue, Radcliffe Avenue, and Selwyn Avenue.
