OCEAN ISLE BEACH, N.C. — Officials said one person has been hospitalized after several homes caught fire overnight on Ocean Isle Beach, two days after similar fires had to be put out following Hurricane Isaias making landfall.

Horry County Fire Rescue said their crews were called to help put out raging fires at homes on Concord Street. The first call came in around 1:10 a.m. A spokesperson with Horry County Fire Rescue said the blaze also caused structural damage to five buildings.
At 1:13 a.m., #HCFR crews were requested as mutual aid to our partners in the area of Concord Street in Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina for multiple structure fires.

Ocean Isle Beach Mayor Debbie Smith said two homes were a total loss and three were damaged. One person was flown to Chapel Hill for treatment.
The fire is believed to have started from a car parked underneath the home, officials said.
On Tuesday morning, crews responded to multiple house fires at Ocean Isle Beach hours after Hurricane Isaias made landfall. Those fires happened when a transformer exploded. Smith said nine homes in total were affected by fires.
