CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police have made a third arrest in a southeast Charlotte homicide last summer.
Layfayette Demon Burney was charged on Jan. 23 with aid and abet and taken to jail.

Lameek Singleton was charged earlier in January with the murder of Kyyri Doggette.
Detectives said Singleton, 21, was already in custody on unrelated charges and has now been charged with first-degree murder.

Last August, Doggette was found shot to death in a vehicle on East Independence Boulevard.
In November, police arrested and charged Andre Brooks with murder in the case.

Police have not said whether the suspects knew the victim or anything about a motive in the case.
