South Carolina State Parks said three to five days after a nest shows signs of major emergence, sea turtle patrol will dig down to determine the success of the nest. They will count the hatched and unhatched eggs, and sometimes find live hatchlings.
According to experts, a two-headed hatching is a result of a genetic mutation. In past year, other two-headed hatchling have been found in South Carolina.
After the discovery, volunteers safely released the turtle with two others into the ocean.
