School bus driver hospitalized in east Charlotte crash; no students hurt

CHARLOTTE — A school bus driver was hurt in a crash Thursday morning in east Charlotte. The wreck happened around 8:30 a.m. on 7th Street at McDowell Street.

The school bus, which was headed to Lansdowne Elementary School, had four students on board at the time, officials said, but no children were injured.

Channel 9 crews could see a damaged black sedan at the crash scene.

CMS officials told Channel 9 the bus driver was taken to the hospital but it was not clear how badly they were injured.

Police are investigating the collision but have not released any details.
