CHARLOTTE — The inbound lanes at South Boulevard at Briabend Drive were blocked Tuesday morning after crews responded to a school bus crash in south Charlotte.

It happened before 6:30 a.m. One person was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, MEDIC said. All students are okay.

A Channel 9 crew could see heavy damage to a white pickup truck and slight damage to a school bus. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools told Channel the bus belongs to Julius Chambers High School. Only one student was on board the bus at the time of the crash.

School officials said the bus was stopped at a stop sign when it was hit.
