Officials said the incident started Friday afternoon after Robinson crashed the first vehicle into a tree, which sparked a fire.

The Clarendon County Fire Department was responding to the area, providing Robinson with medical treatment, when authorities said he stole a fire department pickup and led deputies on a chase through the Caw and Summerton areas.

The Clarendon County Sheriff's Office said deputies used "stinger spike strips" to end the chase, which resulted in the second crash.

Robinson was injured in the first crash, but was uninjured during the chase and second wreck. Officials said he received medical treatment once he was arrested.

The South Carolina State Highway Patrol said Robinson could face more charges after an investigation from the first crash.
