BISCOE, N.C. — Following more than a month of investigation, State Bureau of Investigation agents arrested a local police chief in Montgomery County on Thursday.
Biscoe Police Chief Michael "Brent" Tedder is charged with one count of assault on a female.
He appeared before a magistrate on Thursday and signed a written promise to appear for future court hearings.
The SBI said their investigation began following a request by Montgomery County District Attorney T. Lynn Clodfelter.
The SBI did not release any details on the incident.
