ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — A former teacher at Salisbury High School who is accused of sexual contact with a child is facing more charges after investigators discovered a second victim, according to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.
Jason Carpintero, who lives in eastern Rowan County, originally faced a charge of felony indecent liberties with a child after the sheriff’s office investigated a complaint about possible sexual contact with a child earlier this month.
The victim is not a student at the high school, officials said.
On Mondy, the sheriff’s office said Carpintero was charged with five counts of third-degree exploitation of a minor. Detectives said images of the second victim were found on a media device inside Carpintero’s house.

Carpintero, 51, was arrested last week at his home and taken to the magistrate’s office, where he was booked into jail under a $250,000 bond.
Additional charges are possible as the investigation continues.
