Man charged with shooting, killing woman in Salisbury, police say

ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — A man has been charged with a shooting that left a woman dead in Salisbury on March 26, police said.

Officers responded to Ludwick Avenue after receiving a call about an assault. At the scene, police said they found 39-year-old Maggie Elizabeth Clinding seriously hurt inside a home.

Clinding later died at the scene, according to police.

Antoine Terrell McGee, 35, was arrested Monday in Mecklenburg County. Salisbury police charged him with first-degree murder and attempted murder.

An investigation into this incident is active and ongoing.
