Rolling Stones set to rock Bank of America Stadium

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — If it seems like it was a long time ago when the scoreboards at Bank of America Stadium flashed the Rolling Stones’ famous tongue as a tease for a tour announcement — that’s because it was!

The famous British rock band was scheduled to perform at the stadium last July but that date was postponed because of the pandemic.

This summer, fans finally got the news they’d been waiting for: The band’s “No Filter” tour will resume this fall, which includes a rescheduled date for the Charlotte show on Sept. 30.

“I’m so excited to get back on the stage again and want to thank everyone for their patience,” frontman Mick Jagger said in a statement. “See you soon!”

The show is the band’s only stop in the Carolinas. All previously purchased tickets will be honored on the new date. Tickets can also be purchased through Ticketmaster here.

In early August, Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts had announced that he would miss the band’s upcoming tour after undergoing an unspecified medical procedure. Although it was reported that the procedure was a success, Watts passed away on Aug. 24.

Other acts set to perform at the stadium include Billy Joel on April 23, 2022, Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe on June 28, 2022 and Elton John on Sept. 18, 2022.
