ROCKINGHAM, N.C. — The Rockingham Speedway is making a comeback.

Its new owners have big plans for the iconic racing venue.
Since acquiring the speedway in 2018, vice president Frank Bloom and the new owners have committed themselves to restore the property to its former glory.
“A lot of building rehab, repainting, reroofing, cleaning up the fences -- the actual track surface,” Bloom said.
In the video at the top of this webpage, reporter Joe Bruno spoke to Richmond County leaders about what the comeback would mean for the area.
