ROCK HILL, S.C. — A non-profit in York County held its biggest event to date in honor of a fallen sheriff detective who was killed in the line of duty.
Mike Doty was killed during an ambush in 2018. Three other officers were hurt. The shooting inspired Hungry Heroes, who works to fee first responders each year.
The organization held the Mike Doty Memorial event on Saturday in Rock Hill where the community gathered together to honor Doty.

Event goers were able to get an insight look at the vehicles that law enforcement use.
“We also try to get agencies to stage firetrucks, ambulances military vehicles. so kids can actually see what goes on inside the vehicles,” Hunger Heroes founder Amanda Riggan said.
Since starting the organization in 2018, Hungry Heroes has feed thousands of first responders and military members.
