CHARLOTTE — A retail center adjacent to Berewick Town Center in Steele Creek began vertical construction this week.
Konover South, a real estate firm specializing in retail, based in Deerfield Beach, Florida, began work on the Shoppes of Madison Place on Monday. The 32,000-square-foot retail center will be developed at 9617 Steele Creek Road, across from Berewick Town Center.
Konover South acquired the 6.8-acre parcel, just south of Steele Creek and Dixie River roads, last fall for $4.8 million, according to Mecklenburg County real estate records.
Several tenants have already signed on at Shoppes of Madison Place, including Outback Steakhouse, Verizon Wireless, Tropical Smoothie Cafe, Nothing Bundt Cake, Pacific Dental, Pearle Vision, Encore Nails and Chicken Salad Chick.
