CHARLOTTE, N.C. — May marked a month of restaurant closings, with Charlotte losing a handful of establishments.
That includes eateries like The Liberty in South End, Georges Brasserie in the SouthPark area and Suki Akor in uptown’s new Embassy Suites — the latter of which had been open for less than two months. Most recently, Lumiere French Kitchen in Myers Park shuttered its doors after being in business for five years.
But the Charlotte area also added a few new dining options, like an upscale restaurant in the Elizabeth neighborhood and a Tex-Mex concept for South End. And more spots — including a restaurant in Plaza Midwood that will meld Rhode Island-shore food with tastes of the South — are on the way.
