Restaurant Bites: What's new and what's coming to a menu near you

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — South End has added some new drinking and dining spots to its roster in recent weeks.

Designed as a neighborhood tavern, Rosemont has officially replaced Wu’s Cajun Sea Food at 1714 South Blvd. The concept, the ninth for Charlotte-based Bottle Cap Group, serves classic, quality bar food, which ranges from burgers and sandwiches to snacks like sheet pan nachos and fried pickles. Its menu of creative cocktails also runs the gamut, from The Soccer Mom Special, an adult take on the Capri Sun, and alcohol-infused milkshakes, to the Frozemont Slushy, made with Captain Morgan, Amaretto and Cheerwine.

Farther down in South End, a new brewery has joined the ranks of The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery and Sugar Creek Brewing Co. At Brewers at 4001 Yancey Road, Southern Tier Brewing Co. and Victory Brewing Co., both from out of town, teamed up to restore the historic Bowers Mill Building. Now a 28,000-square-foot brewery, full-service restaurant and taproom, that establishment offers 40 beers on tap and a beer-inspired menu.

And still to come in South End is an Asian street-food concept, which is targeting a January opening in the Design Center of the Carolinas complex.
