CHARLOTTE, N.C. — As local residents were met with a variety of new dining choices in November, several restaurants — some long-standing in the Charlotte community — closed their doors.

Added to Charlotte’s list of shuttered eateries last month are Sushi Guru, which closed its SouthPark location — on the heels of closing its restaurant in Plaza Midwood and putting the property up for sale. Of note: A coffee shop is planned to replace Sushi Guru in Plaza Midwood.
The Terrace — formerly known as Terrace Cafe — also has closed its SouthPark location and, reportedly, its second Charlotte restaurant in Ballantyne. A longtime bakery in South End closed up shop in early November, too, leaving three other Charlotte-area locations still open.
On the flip side, new to Charlotte’s lineup of eateries are a fast-casual taqueria and bar in SouthPark, a burger joint for the Belmont neighborhood and an “elegant” restaurant with vibes from the 1930s and ‘40s in South End, among others.
