CHARLOTTE — Residents along Carolina Lily Lane in north Charlotte told Channel 9 that their daily commutes are getting dangerous due to semitrucks.
The trucks are parked in a residential area, which residents said makes it difficult for drivers to see as they pull out onto the roadway.
Neighbors said the street fills up with trucks every night, and it’s been going on for months.

“Obviously, I couldn’t see (a vehicle) coming because I was blocked by the 18-wheelers,” resident Briyana Beasley said. “So I had to swerve over to prevent an accident because you really can never see.”
Beasley said she has lived there a few months, but it has been an ongoing issue.
“You just have to take caution and pray for the best,” she said.

Channel 9′s Hannah Goetz noticed a ticket from the City of Charlotte on a window of a truck parked on the road.
The ticket stated the truck was violating a zoning ordinance regarding the parking of commercial vehicles in residential areas.
Goetz reached out to the city Wednesday night to see if it had received complaints or if it is doing extra patrols in the area to prevent illegal parking from happening.
