UNION COUNTY, N.C. — Union County residents can give input beginning Monday on whether part of U.S. Highway 74 should be renamed to calm concerns from business owners.
Some businesses along U.S. 74 fear they’ll lose business when the Monroe Expressway opens later this year.

The Union County Planning Department is requesting for feedback about asking the Department of Transportation to designate the part of U.S. Highway 74 bypassed by the Monroe Expressway as U.S. Highway 74 Business and designate the Monroe Expressway as U.S. 74 Toll.
