Cathey Frye and her boyfriend pulled into her driveway Tuesday night when she said her boyfriend came face to face with an gunman.

"He (the gunman) could have shot him,” Frye said. “We could be planning funerals today."

Frye said the man wore a ski mask and demanded her boyfriend’s wallet.

"He had that gun right in his face,” she said.

She said her boyfriend said "no" and he pushed the gunman to the ground. That's when the robber pointed the gun at him again.

"He knew he was gonna shoot him, or he had to give him his wallet, so he just gave the wallet and the guy went running this way toward (Highway) 49.”

Residents believe that before the robbery, the assailant’s car was captured on surveillance video driving on Montgomery Road. A person could be seen jumping out of the car and running through the neighborhood.

York County deputies said a similar armed robbery happened on Autumn Glen Court minutes earlier.

The person who was robbed was also getting ready to go inside his house.

Authorities believe the crimes were random.

"I thought I was safe,” resident Margie Zittle said. “We were comfortable here. We let down our guard and now we are tiptoeing around -- crossing all Ts, dotting Is, making sure doors are locked, and we don't like living like that.”

Investigators are exploring the possibility that the robberies could be connected.
