HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — Police are searching for someone who they said fired shots at officers while they were investigating a crash in Huntersville early Monday morning.
The crash happened just before 4 a.m. on Beatties Ford Road.

While officers were investigating the crash, someone fired several shots in the direction of police and those who were involved in the crash.
Huntersville police said they are looking for information on suspicious persons, vehicles or shots fired near Beatties Ford and Sample Roads between 3:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m.
Police are encouraging anyone with outdoor surveillance cameras to check for any footage that may be related to the incident.
