Resident Culture brings back classic Harper’s dish

Harper’s Chicken Supremes (Gloria Zavaleta)

CHARLOTTE — Resident Culture Brewing Co. is giving Harper’s fans an unexpected holiday gift this year.

The brewery just added the former restaurant’s popular Chicken Supremes to its menu.

The Chicken Supremes, priced at $13.99, come with fries or chips and a signature dipping sauce -- just like they did at the SouthPark staple. The Supremes are available from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday at the South End taproom at 332 W. Bland St.

“Our holiday gift this year is the revival of a true classic. They’re called ‘Supremes’ because, honestly, there’s nothing like them in Charlotte,” said Resident’s co-owner Phillip McLamb. “I’ve been going to Harper’s since I was a kid and have many memories of eating with my family there. I think folks will be just as excited as I am to know they haven’t disappeared, and now they can share this Charlotte classic with their own family and friends.”

Harper’s Restaurant closed in July after more than 30 years in business.
