Representation matters: Panthers celebrate Black culture with NFL

CHARLOTTE — There are so many moments we’ll always remember from last week’s rain game.

There’s the last-second field goal, or the 90-yard drive that got them there.

But before players and coaches even stepped onto the field, there was another team of Panthers staff who’d been working for months to turn that game into a celebration.

“And just going in, we wanted to highlight some of the organizations who normally don’t get the shine in Charlotte,” said Quentin Deberry, the director of inclusion and belonging with Tepper Sports and Entertainment. “So really, just focusing on those diamonds in the rough was really the motivation behind picking some of those schools.”
