Reports are surfacing that Charlotte-native Emily Maynard will be named the new "Bachelorette" to air on ABC, US Weekly reported.
Maynard, 25, was famously proposed to by Brad Womack, 38, on ABC's The Bachelor in March 2011. Maynard split with Womack shortly after the proposal aired.
The reports say Maynard has signed on for the show's eighth season and will start filming in March.

In an article on US Weekly's website, a source said that the "Bachelorette" will move production from Los Angeles to Charlotte, to accommodate Maynard where she lives and raises her young daughter, Ricki.
Maynard appeared on a ABC after the split with Womack to talk about the break-up.
"I wanted to be married and have more children, but I doubted he was going to still want to be with me," she told Bachelor host Chris Harrison in an emotional July 2011 interview. "As a single mom, I don't have the luxury of saying "we'll figure it out when we get there." I need that reassurance that he'd want to be with me six weeks down the road much less six years."
ABC has declined to comment on this story.
