CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Interstate 77 toll lanes are not open yet, but there are already more than 1,000 issues concerning safety along the roadway.
They range from problems with the asphalt to a cracked tunnel and a damaged bridge.
An updated non-conformance log points out nearly 200 new problems NCDOT inspectors found with the construction of the toll lanes since October.
"There's just an endless amount of supply of issues that have happened on this project," Michelle Furlato with the Lake Norman Transportation Safety Partnership said.
Watch the video above as Eyewitness News Anchor Blaine Tolison takes these issues to the Department of Transportation and asked what's being done before you drive in the toll lanes.
