MORGANTON, N.C. — At least six people were involved in a wreck Friday afternoon near Freedom High School, in Morganton, WSOC news partners at the Morganton News Herald reported.
Officials said one driver was driving a blue Jeep Cherokee toward Freedom and hit a gold car, which was traveling away from the school, causing the gold car to spin off of the road.
Police said the Cherokee hit a black car head-on and the black car rolled backward. Officials said the driver of the Cherokee fled the scene. The driver was caught about a mile down the road.
A person from the gold car also ran away along North Carolina Highway 126, Morganton News Herald reported.
One of the three people inside the gold car was airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center, in Charlotte.
