Redevelopment of Plaza Midwood site not happening

CHARLOTTE — Plans that would have brought residential uses to a prime slice of Plaza Midwood real estate have been canceled.

Sinacori Builders, a Charlotte firm, last year went under contract to acquire the former Peculiar Rabbit site at 1212 Pecan Ave. It filed a rezoning petition for the 0.6-acre site to allow the most dense transit-oriented development district, TOD-UC. Plans called for upscale residential flats on the triangular property, which is between Pecan Avenue and Gordon Street.

Emma Littlejohn, a real estate consultant who was working with Sinacori on the project, told the Charlotte Business Journal the project is no longer moving forward.
