HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — Red Rocks Café is gearing up for a nearly $800,000 renovation at its Birkdale Village location.
The upscale, casual restaurant will kick off construction in January for a four- to six-week project. It expects to close for a few weeks during that process.
“We want to keep up with the times,” says Ron Herbert, co-owner. “You have to change all the time to be a better restaurant. You always have to get better.”
He hopes those improvements will increase sales between 10% and 20%.
Red Rocks has been a fixture at Birkdale Village since 2003 — even rebuilding after a fire in 2017. It recently signed a 10-year lease extension for its 5,700-square-foot restaurant and patio. That spurred upgrades to fit with landlord North American Properties’ vision for the center.
