CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Peter Thomas is a reality TV personality and an uptown Charlotte sports bar owner.
He was recently accused of abusing one of his employees.
Eyewitness News reporter Mark Becker spoke with Thomas and his accuser after court Wednesday.
“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” reality TV star was accused of assaulting Paris Hopkins, a former employee at Thomas’ business, Sports One.
“It's all on camera,” Hopkins said. “Sitting at the bar. He pulled my hair.”
Thomas said the incident never happened.
“I have a hundred employees and have never touched one of them -- not one,” Thomas said.
He has denied the charges all along and said Hopkins took money from the bar and was about to get fired.
“For her to try to come up with these charges, saying that I assaulted her, no one in my establishment would stand up to that,” Thomas told Channel 9.
Prosecutors said Wednesday there was not enough evidence to make a case against Thomas.
“People were trying to fabricate things that didn't work in their favor,” Thomas said.
“That's one thing I don't do, is make up any stories on somebody,” Hopkins said.
Hopkins was disappointed, but she's not giving up.
She wants to be a voice for others who have complaints against their bosses.
“Don't be scared to go against your employer because you feel like nothing's going to happen,” Hopkins said. “Yes, the case got dismissed today, but this is not the end of it.”
Hopkins filed an EEOC complaint against Thomas, and she said she's also going to the labor board.
