‘Ready to go’: Woman switches gears to help at overwhelmed testing sites

CHARLOTTE — StarMed Healthcare in Mecklenburg County has seen numerous challenges since the pandemic began, but that hasn’t stopped some people from stepping up to the front lines in the fight against COVID-19.

Terri West has worked in human relations for 15 years but chose to work at StarMed two weeks ago when COVID-19 testing surged and lines grew.

“I knew it was busy, but the volume of the busy-ness was something different,” West told Channel 9. “But it was also something expected because I knew how great the need is. I came in ready to go.”
