RANKED: These local private K-12 schools come out on top for 2021

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The focus turns to private schools in the final installment of CBJ’s review of the best schools in the Charlotte area. The rankings come from Pittsburgh-based research and review site Niche.

The four-part series began earlier this month and has covered public elementary, middle and high schools across the region. Here’s a look back at those pieces:

Niche releases the rankings each year with the aim on helping parents and students find the school that’s their best fit. It takes into account reviews from parents and students as well as academic data on thousands of schools across the U.S. to compile an overall grade.

For the ranking on best private K-12 schools, Niche analyzed statistics from the U.S Department of Education, along with test scores, college data, ratings from its own users and additional information that came directly from the schools.

Providence Day School came in at the top of the list of the best Charlotte-area private schools. It ranked as the second-best private school in North Carolina. Nationwide, it placed at No. 147.
