CHARLOTTE — A message was sent to parents of students at Randolph Middle School Thursday morning saying that a “suspicious person” was seen on campus.
The message said that Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officers responded, but there weren’t any threats to students or staff.
Officers at the school told Channel 9 that they escorted the person off campus.
Channel 9 spoke with parents who decided to take their kids home for the rest of the day.
“Just for safety precautions, I went ahead and got my son, I’d rather be safe than sorry because you never know what could happen next,” said Jasmine Roebuck.
“With all the scary stuff that happens in schools across the nation, it’s a very hard call with what to do, whether to get your kid ... or to trust the system in place,” said Rebecca Atkinson.
We’re working on getting more information. Check back for updates.
