The Rainforest Action Network said activists used special non-adhesive stickers that were designed to look like the bank's ATM interface. But instead of the checking and savings account information, the menus gave a list of things including "Invest in coal-fired power plants" and "Fund executive bonuses."

The stickers were placed on the machines to turn them into "automated truth machines," the group said. The Rainforest Action Network said 51 ATMs across the Charlotte area were modified on Tuesday night.

Police said the sheets they have found did not do any damage to the machines and are easily removed.
