CHARLOTTE — Ballantyne could soon look a lot different if the Charlotte City Council decides to give the green light on a new multi-million-dollar project.
The 500-acre Ballantyne Reimagined Project would include a park, apartments, new shops, restaurants and an amphitheater.

The developer is seeking a combined $42.5 million from the city and county.
The city said over the project's 12 years, there could be $1.5 billion worth of private investments.
The developer is also committing to 260 affordable housing units. The proposal originally only called for 160.
