NORTH CAROLINA — Helmets could soon be optional for motorcyclists in North Carolina.
A proposed bill in the house would do away with the mandatory helmet law for motorcycle riders who are 21 and older.
Some said the decision should be up to the individual rider.
Others said extra protection is needed.
