President's State of Union Address lights up Twitter, but no Super Bowl

President Barack Obama's State of the Union address lit up Twitter Tuesday night.

About 1.3 million Tweets were made during the speech, Twitter's blog reported.

The most Tweeted moment came when Obama (@BarackObama) suggested the federal minimum wage should be raised to $9 per hour.

That topic drew about 24,000 Tweets per minute.

The second most Tweeted topic was when Obama asked Congress to vote on controversial new gun control measures.

The subject garnered 23,700 Tweets per minute.

Early childhood education received about 19,000 Tweets per minute.

A couple weeks ago, 24.1 million Tweets were sent on Super Bowl Sunday.
