CHARLOTTE, N.C. — President Barack Obama told voters Friday night at a Hillary Clinton rally at the PNC Music Pavilion that what and who you are doesn't change after you become president.
Obama is trying to dispel the notion that Donald Trump could change and become more presidential if he wins the election. Obama spoke to more than 8,500 people at the Charlotte event.

"When I first started we were in a war and we were in economic decline, but because of (voters) we battled back," Obama said Friday night.
Democrats want to deny Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump a victory in the state next week.
"It's going to be a close race especially in North Carolina," Obama said.
Early voting ends Saturday.
Clinton and Donald Trump each held rallies Thursday in the presidential battleground state. Trump's campaign has announced he'll be in Wilmington on Saturday and in Raleigh on Monday.
