CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police responded Wednesday afternoon to a possible murder-suicide in east Charlotte, police told Channel 9.
Officers were called at 1:19 p.m. to the 1800 block of Charleston Place, off of Independence Boulevard. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said that officers found one man and one woman dead from gunshot wounds in the apartment.
The victim was identified as Tiara Clark, 29, and the suspect was identified as Bryon Howington, 31. Police said the two were in a relationship.
Neighbor Bill Huddleston said he was at the apartment complex as family members responded to the scene.
"It's sad. It's a beautiful day and we have to do something. It's too much, it happens too much," Huddleston said. "I feel very sad for the family."
The investigation is ongoing.
