Portion of SC 901 closed after structural issues found on bridge, SCDOT says

CHESTER COUNTY, S.C. — The South Carolina Department of Transportation said a portion of South Carolina 901 will be closed after crews found structural issues on a bridge over Rocky Creek.

SCDOT said a repair plan is being developed to repair the bridge on Mountain Gap Road, but they do not have an estimated date for when the project will be finished.

Officials said drivers can detour around the area beginning at the intersection of SC 901 and SC 97 (Great Falls Highway). Then, motorists will drive west on SC 97 until you reach Interstate 77. Take I-77 north for just under 9.5-miles until you reach Exit 65.

Last, drivers will head east on SC 9 (Lancaster Highway) for just under 2-miles until you reach the intersection of SC 901.
