Pop star's song carries meaning for family of boy killed in revolving restaurant

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Pop superstar Justin Timberlake will be in concert at the Spectrum Arena next week, and his appearance holds special meaning for one Charlotte family struck by tragedy.

Timberlake's song "Can't Stop the Feeling" was Charlie Holt's favorite

The 5-year-old died from his injuries in 2017 during a tragic accident in Atlanta at a rotating restaurant.

After his death, Charlie's kindergarten class walked out to the song on what would have been his graduation day.

"The preschool director had these little pieces of sunshine, so that we have always a little piece of Charlie in our pockets," Charlie’s mother, Rebecca Holt, said.

Family members and friends have been trying to get in touch with the singer to share what his song has meant to their family.

Charlie's family started a foundation in his honor called Charlie's Heart. One of the foundation’s missions is to help break the cycle of poverty in Ethiopia.
