CHARLOTTE — It’s been a busy year for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, and it won’t be long before school is back in session.

The spotlight is on the district as it moves forward with new boundaries and renews efforts to improve test scores, and it’s all happening with a new top leader at the helm.

This week, the Political Beat featured Rep. Dee Rankin, who represents northeast Charlotte and the University area, and Rep. Lisa Cline, who represents Myers Park, Olde Providence and Matthews.

>> In the video at the top of the page, Channel 9′s Jonathan Lowe speaks to the two school board members about what’s next for the district as it tackles school assignment, student performance and changes mandated by the state.
