CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are investigating after a driver drove a car into a east Charlotte restaurant Wednesday night.
Channel 9 was at the scene as a section of North Sharon Amity Road closed down near Central Avenue while emergency crews investigate.
The car crashed into Copan Mexican Restaurant.
Police said a person driving a sedan hit another car in the drive-thru of nearby Captain D’s, and then crashed through Copan Restaurant and ended up partially inside the building.
Officers said the driver of the other car and two people inside the restaurant suffered minor injuries.
The driver of the sedan ran from the car and has not been found. Alcohol and speed are suspected factors in the crash, police said.
Police said they are still looking for the suspect and speaking with witnesses.
