CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating after someone shot into a home in west Charlotte early Monday morning.
The shooting happened shortly after 4 a.m. on Ashley Road, near Alleghany Street.
Police said someone in the home heard a person breaking into his car. When he went out to confront the suspect, the thief shot at him and the bullet hit the house.
The suspect ran from the scene before officers could get there.

No one was hurt during the shooting and no arrests have been made.
