BOONE, N.C. — Authorities arrested a Shelby man who they said is accused of trying to exploit a 14-year-old girl.
Boone police arrested 36-year-old David Short after a 10-week cyber investigation.
Short made several "legal violations of a sexual nature" after detectives set up a profile of a young teenage girl online.
Short several charges including one count of felony second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, one count of felony soliciting a child by computer and one count of felony dissemination of obscenity.
